Common questions

Answers before you switch

Short answers to the six questions people ask before changing DNS providers.

What is encrypted DNS?

Encrypted DNS wraps your domain lookups in TLS. Neither your ISP nor a public Wi-Fi operator can see which sites you visit. AEU DNS speaks DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) and DNS-over-TLS (DoT).

Is AEU DNS really zero-log?

Yes. Queries are handled in memory and never written to disk. No personal identifiers are stored. Aggregate resolver health metrics are the only data retained.

How does AEU DNS block malware and ads?

AEU DNS refuses to resolve domains from continuously updated malware, phishing, and ad-network blocklists. Blocked domains return NXDOMAIN so the browser gives up quickly.

Does AEU DNS work on iOS and Android?

Yes. iOS 14 and later support DoH profiles natively; Android 9 and later support Private DNS. Setup is one config profile on iOS or a hostname entry on Android.

Can I use AEU DNS at the router level?

Yes. Configure your router to forward all DNS to the AEU DNS DoT endpoint, or point plain UDP DNS at the AEU DNS resolvers. Everyone on the network gets the protection.

Is AEU DNS really free?

Yes. AEU DNS is free forever. Optional paid tiers unlock custom blocklists, analytics, and multi-profile routing for households and businesses.
